Honestly, I wouldn't mind these things with the ford coyote 5.0 or the more modern LS series GM engines but they all have to have velocity stacks.

People (including the Jalopnik writing staff) conveniently forget why Can-Am folded in the first place: shit just got too expensive. It was the no holds barred style of racing that F1 used to be, except that F1 saw the writing on the wall and started implementing rules to help curtail escalating costs. If you let costs spiral out of control, you end up with one team dominating everybody else and that kind of racing is boring (*cough*Audi*cough*).
As it is, NuArt Can-Am is nothing more than a modified historic racing series. This thing is essentially a novelty and when the novelty wears off, I doubt there will be much interest left. At least not at the (meager) level its getting now.

I was at Laguna in 2013 when they ran (Support for ALMS/CTPL/MX-5 Cup weekend)
Loud. Loud loud loud.
They weren't terribly inspiring as far as looks. Just looked like generic "Old racecars". Wasn't really impressed.
